Lotus Bookmark

origami lotus bookmark

  1. To make a lotus bookmark, start with a square piece of paper that is the same color on both sides. Fold the paper in half (corner to corner on the diagonal), unfold. Repeat on the other diagonal, unfold.

  2. Turn the paper over and fold the paper in half (left to right) and unfold. Fold the paper in half again (top to bottom) and unfold.

  3. Collapse the paper by bringing the top edge towards the bottom edge as you push the left and right sides inwards. This forms the waterbomb base.

  4. Fold the left & right layers (top layer only) upwards. Do not let the tips align directly on top of the point of the waterbomb base. Leave a small gap - these represent the inner petals.

  5. Fold the remaining layers upwards. This time leave an even bigger gap. Unfold.

  6. Reverse fold the creases made in step 5 to form the outer petals.

  7. Pry open the lotus bookmark and place it at the corner of a page. Done!
